My friend maria Palma from The Runway Scoop is in a bit of doubt. Looking at designer runways she asks herself whether all those designers are joking with us:

"Do designers create these pieces simply for the aesthetic aspect without any regard to whether or not it is wearable? Is there a battle to see who can create the weirdest outfit?"

My answer to this is yes, I think that very often designers make art and not clothing. It is therefore so much more important to interpret the trends, and not blindly follow them. For instance, did you see anyone looking good in a five sizes oversized coat?

Remember girls, just because it's on a runway doesn't mean it would look good on you. I've learnt this the hard way, season after season changing almost all my wardrobe because it wasn't trendy no more.

I'm smarter now, I only get a piece or two and for the rest I buy quality classics.
