Product review: A transitional moisturizer

At summer we use light water-based body moisturizers, at winter we use thicker, more nourishing formulas to keep dry skin away. But what to do in spring and fall when the heavy cream is too much and the light lotion is not enough?
Something in between would be the right answer, and Keri lotions, which I had an opportunity to try out, would be one of better products available.
Although the packaging looks a bit old-school, it is functional and easy to use, with a pump which delivers just the right amount of lotion to cover one leg, one arm or belly. Also rather stable, you can easily get the cream using only one hand.
The lotion itself is great. Not too greasy, not too watery, but definitely gives the skin hydration needed. It sinks in quite quickly and leaves a nice sheen afterwards, you can feel skin became softer and gentler instantly. I used it all over my body after showering and it never failed to give me that great sense of feeling good in my skin.
The Original formula (available at Drugstore for $7.19) is great to use if you have generally needy skin, prone to feeling and looking dryish. The Shea butter version (available at Drugstore for $6.87) is especially nice to use after a leg shave, and I've enjoyed using it after scrubbing.
The downside of Keri lotion is only one to be found: the smell. It does not smell bad, but it also does not smell like other lotions and potions. Keri lotion has an almost medicky scent, like someone forgot to put the perfume in before it was shipped to the market. As I was not really sure whether I smelled it right, I gave my girlfriends a sniff, and they all agree that it isn't unpleasant, rather on the neutral side.
All in all, Keri really delivers great skin nourishment, works great at spring and fall and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone with needy skin.
