The difficult task of removing makeup
Filed in archive Beauty , Makeup on February 15, 2007
We all have, by now, mastered all possible ways of putting makeup on. I myself know more about sponges, applicators, wands and brushes than a professional painter I dare to say. And, thanks to the genius people working in cosmetic laboratories, we now have really durable makeup, which is not only waterproof, but also sweat-proof, lasts up to 24 hours and does not melt away.
Which is perfect when you have to look great from 9 to 5 or at a long party night, but when it comes to taking the makeup off, Houston, we have a problem. Because my makeup is really, really difficult to get rid of. Thankfully, I have devised a perfect technique to remove makeup, so pay attention and you'll never again be left with clogged pores and raccoon eyes the morning after.
First of all, you need a special product to remove eye makeup and long lasting lipstick, because if you wear waterproof makeup no soap will get rid of it! I love Max-Factor remover for long-lasting makeup, and my first step when removing makeup is to soak a cotton round in it and gently start swiping my eyes and lips. If your mascara is of a really stubborn kind you can always resort to the last trick in the bag - get rid of it with a few drops of baby oil.
Next, swipe you whole face with a new cotton round with a bit of the same product. Than wash your face with a gentle, soothing wash (I like Alba Sea Mineral Gel), or you can also use a gentler makeup remover, like the Benefit Not on my Pillow, but as I hear some gals do not feel properly clean if the cleansing process does not include foam and water.
The last, crucial step in makeup removing is the toner, which should never ever be left out. This product will not only relieve you of any possible makeup and makeup-remover residue, but also leave your face refreshed and ready for moisturizing. If you're looking for a recommendation, try Chanel Precision, it's the deluxe way to give your face a finishing touch.
And that's it!
By the way, if the whole procedure frightens you, just remember that any makeup you leave on in the evening will undoubtedly result in clogged pores, zits, blemishes, blackheads, wrinkles and uneven skin tone in a few days. The choice is yours!
If you really have no power left in you after a long work day or night out, be a doll and try to swipe even some of the makeup of with makeup remover towels.

It's not that difficult to remove makeup, it can become difficult if you are in a hurry and don't follow few simple steps. Extra care for the eyes, that's the most important rule.

It is not as difficult as one can imagine removing the makeup. Not for me, as far as I am concerned. I sometimes play on some stages and that theatrical make up takes an eternity to remove. Otherwise, it is easy to remove it.
